Today I want to share my top 6 tips for trade show success with you. I’ve created an infographic you can print off and I am going to focus in detail on using your story to generate interest in your brand in this blog.

Indie Beauty Expo London is now just 3 months away, YAY!!!!! If you are exhibiting then now is THE perfect time to kick start your pre show PR. If you’re not going to be at IBEL then just remember that whatever show you are doing PR needs to start latest, 3 months before the event.
As independent brands it is a real challenge to stand out and get noticed at shows. You are often surrounded by brands with larger budgets, bigger stands and loads of tricks. You can feel isolated and unnoticed. It doesn’t have to be that way.
With a little creativity, passion and dedication (things you are positively oozing with!) you can create pre show interest in your brand which means bloggers, journos, buyers and customers are quite literally queuing up to meet you when the doors open.
One way of doing this is to use your STORY.
Your brand story is unique to you. It’s what makes you so totally different and it’s what will catch the attention and interest of trade show attendees.

The growth of indie beauty is based on an ever growing market of conscientious consumers who want to connect with brands and their founders. They want to understand why brands exist, how products are made and what founders stand for and believe in. They are interested in the highs and lows, the problems and challenges. They want transparency. They want to understand and be part of your story.
So use the run up to a trade show to tell your story. Take people behind the scenes of your prep. Lift the curtain and give them a glimpse of what it’s like to run a beauty brand.
You can use your blog, you can do a trade show diary, and you can use all your social media platforms, Instagram Stories, Instagram TV and YouTube.
Why not contact bloggers and journos and invite them to join you on your journey. Give them an opportunity to get involved and look at the beauty industry from a different angle. Journalists are always looking for new angles and new content. If you catch them at the right time they are likely to bite your hand off. What have you got to loose. Write that email now!
None of this will cost you a penny.
You just need to start talking and writing.
